Dougherty Gang' Caught After High-Speed Police Chase

A 100-m.p.h police chase in Colorado Wednesday morning has resulted in three fugitive siblings from Florida being taken into custody, after the FBI has been combing the country for the trio since Aug. 2.
Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, and half brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26 – referred to as the "Dougherty Gang" – crashed their car and were apprehended, Charlene Graham, bureau chief for law enforcement with the Pueblo
County Sheriff's Office, confirmed to the Denver Post. A Tweet from the Colorado State Patrol public affairs office also stated, "Short pursuit with 3 sibling fugitives from Florida ends in crash, three in custody."
The sister, Lee Dougherty, a part-time stripper, was reportedly shot in the leg during the police pursuit.
The Doughertys' crime spree began in central Florida earlier this month when they allegedly shot a police officer who tried to pull them over. Five hours later, armed with both an AK-47 rifle and a machine gun, they allegedly robbed a Georgia bank.
The key to finding them, apparently, was their getaway car, a 2006 Subaru Impreza sedan – believed to have been seen in Colorado Springs on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said in a statement: "At about 1:30 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department received a report that people were spotted in the area of Woodmen and I-25 that matched the description of the Dougherty siblings."
One theory was that the trio had been at a sporting goods store to buy a tent and camping equipment so they could hide out in the Colorado mountains.
While on the run they texted their mother to say: "There's a time for all of us to die."
